How far ahead should I book?
Around ten days is comfortable for a flat or small house, and it gives us time to arrange lift bookings or a parking suspension. Short-notice moves are often possible midweek — ask rather than assume.
What happens if it rains on the day?
The move goes ahead. Upholstery and mattresses get waterproof covers, cartons are shuttled under a canopy at the van door, and extra runners go down inside. Only genuine safety conditions, such as ice on an external stair, cause us to stop and reschedule.
Can I pack some rooms myself and leave the rest to you?
Yes, and it is the most common arrangement. People usually pack books, clothes and kitchenware themselves and leave glassware, artwork and electronics to the crew. Tell us which rooms you want covered and we price only those.
How are fragile and valuable items handled?
Mirrors, glass and framed work are wrapped and fitted into purpose-made crates on site. Small valuables — documents, jewellery, keys and medication — should travel with you rather than in the van, and we will remind you on the walkthrough.
Do you arrange parking permits or lift bookings?
We tell you exactly what we need: a bay long enough for a Luton van near the entrance, and a booked service lift where a building requires one. Applications are made by the resident or the building manager, so we send the vehicle dimensions and timings you will be asked for.
When is payment due, and what if completion slips?
A deposit holds the date, with the balance due once the final sweep is signed off. If keys are released late, waiting time starts after the first free hour and we will confirm the moment it begins — you will never find it on an invoice unannounced.
